If you are visiting my website, I'm thinking you are expecting a baby. Congratulations!!!The transition home is often challenging with families underestimating how overwhelming this time can be. My goal as your postpartum doula is to support you in the early days and weeks bringing a sense calm and confidence as you face the joys, obstacles and challenges of having a newborn. Durung our time together I will provide you with the most up-to-date guidelines around newborn care, feeding and sleep. I will encourage the new mother to rest and recover from the monumental task of giving birth, while gently supporting your newborn nearby.
Daytime Visits: Personalized daytime postpartum support. Together we will create a schedule that works for you.
Fee: $200/daytime visit (4hr minimum-$50 each additional hour)
Overnight Care: 8 hour presence (9pm-5am) to enable a family a full nights rest knowing that your baby is well cared for and supported. The overnight care I provide benefits not only the new mother but the entire family.
Fee: $400/overnight (8hr minimum-$50 each additional hour)
In addition, I teach 4 pre-birth classes to help prepare you for this life changing experience.
Childbirth Education $300
Breastfeeding for the Postpartum Mom $150
Newborn Care $150
Calling all Grandparents $150
During my scheduled daytime visits I will tidy up the kitchen and family room, wash/dry/fold newborn laundry, help with nursery organization and run errands/do grocery shopping. For my breastfeeding mothers I provide lactation education and support as a Lactation Educator. For my mothers choosing to bottle feed their newborns I will teach you all about bottle feedings, including product recommendations and paced bottle feeding instruction. We will discuss pumping and milk storage guidelines when indicated. Education around newborn care, hygiene, soothing techniques and sleep will be part of our daily conversations.
I provide overnight care as sleep is vital to a mother's physical and mental well being. Overnight care offers the partner an opportunity to get a full night sleep while I'm supporting the new mother. I can take over complete care of your baby at night if you are bottle feeding. If you are breastfeeding I support your newborn between breastfeeding sessions. I leave the home straightened up and newborn laundry washed and folded. When bottle and pump parts are incorporated into the nighttime routine I wash and assemble all pieces leaving everything ready to use the following day.
I also provide overnight postpartum support in the hospital for families, allowing partners to return home for sibling/animal care or to get a complete nights sleep.
As a certified sleep consultant I have a deep understanding about the science of sleep. I will partner with you to help guide your baby into restful age appropriate sleep. As a sleep consultant my goal is to educate you about what normal newborn sleep looks like.
